Our Climate Protection

We have set ourselves ambitious environmental goals on the road to climate neutrality. For many years, we have been developing solutions to improve the quality of life and reduce our carbon footprint. In doing so, we focus our activities in the areas of climate protection, circular economy and the careful use of biodiversity.

Climate protection along the value chain

In order to act against climate change, we have set ourselves the goal of reducing our direct greenhouse gas emissions by a total of 40% by 2030 (Scope 1 and 2 according to the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, GHG). We want to achieve this on the one hand by switching to renewable energies and by generating our own energy, which we need for production, construction sites, airports and administration, among other things. We are also focusing on reducing the indirect emissions of our upstream and downstream corporate activities from Scope 3. These include procured goods and services, logistics and the life cycle of our products. We have therefore set ourselves ambitious climate targets along the entire value chain, which we will achieve and continuously optimise with our defined steps towards climate neutrality.

The CO2 Footprint App shows our potentials and concrete measures for CO2 reduction within Scopes 1, 2 and 3.

Our six ways to climate neutrality

For the implementation of our climate neutrality and the reduction of our CO2 footprint, we have defined six ways in which the CO2 Footprint App significantly supports us.

Before strategies to reduce CO2 emissions can be planned, they must first be discussed so that resources can then be focused on the areas that will bring the greatest benefit. This is where the CO2 Footprint App provides a comprehensive environmental reporting tool, including the calculation of emissions for all areas.

The Carbon Footprint App documents the energy consumption in the company and transparently analyses the energy consumers. Employees can use the challenges to scrutinise their own energy consumption and optimize it with the help of solution approaches.

Process optimisation identifies potential for improvement in workflows and along the value chain and sustainably optimises processes. The Carbon Footprint App supports this through mobility tracking of organisational units, value creation in buildings and locations, waste management, energy and environmental reporting.

Companies need the commitment of their employees in order to achieve the climate targets for reducing CO2 emissions. Employees need to be educated in simple terms about the contribution they can make and the personal benefits they can gain. With our solution, you can introduce sustainable changes in employee actions through education and awareness raising on climate change, involving the entire company.

It is also important to reduce emissions in the area of mobility and to sensitise employees to this. With mobility tracking, business trips, commutes and machine usage can be recorded and tracked specifically. In addition, managers have an overview of total emissions, can set targets and adjust fleet management as needed.

Not only do companies need to consider direct CO2 emissions, but also their choice of partners and suppliers. Are all materials sourced ethically? Are they recycled? How is the product packaged and how far is it transported?
